Bargain Alert!
Today, our little family scored ten boxes of cereal for a mere $5.30 (tax included). How? Albertson’s is currently having a “10 for $20″ sale on select General Mills products. When you purchase 10 of these General Mills products, you are rewarded with an “instant savings” coupon of $10. So that basically turns this into a “10 for $10″ deal.
Now, my family loves to clip coupons, so we had a nice stockpile of General Mills cereal coupons. Two coupons were “buy 3 General Mills cereals and save $1.50″; two were “buy 2 General Mills cereals and save $1.” These coupons subtracted an additional $5 from our original cost of $10. Add $0.30 in tax and you have our final cost of $5.30.
Total Savings Using Our Albertsons Preferred Card: $31.80
Total Savings Using Our Coupons: $5.00
TOTAL SAVINGS: $36.80
Not too shabby. What can I say? I’m not going to be another “starving writer.” We shop smart in this household.
